Moments ago the International e-Sports Federatoin (IeSF) has disclosed the third official and the first individual game title of the upcoming 9th Esports World Championship taking place November 8-12 in Busan, Korea: Tekken 7

Tekken – at that time Tekken Tag Tournament 2 – was first played at the 2012 World Championship in Cheonan (Korea), and was also an official title both during the 2013 World Championship Bucharest (Romania) and the 2014 World Championship Baku (Azerbaijan). During latter it was a mixed as well a women’s competition.

During the 2012 World Championship in Cheonan (Korea), Switzerland was represented by Suwarchai Rianthong who back then was eliminated at group stage. For the 6th e-Sports World Championship in 2014 in Baku (Azerbaijan) Switzerland returned with two competitors. Michael Popa played in the mixed tournament while Sabrina Allemann competed in the female competition. They made it all the way to the round of 16 and the round of 8 respectively. 

We are happy to once more have the chance to offer the Swiss fighting game scene a fighting opportunity to compete and represent the Swiss colors in the IeSF World Championship in Busan, Korea. Details regarding the qualifier will follow asap.
