As part of a research project, the Department of Health Science at the University of Bern is currently investigating the influence of physical training sessions on the performance of esports athletes in FPS Aim Trainer.
Participation requirements: Participation is open to players aged 18 to 40 who have played a shooter game for at least 3 hours per week in the last 6 weeks and have no health or physical restrictions to exercise.
Procedure of the study: The study comprises three examination appointments in the physiology laboratory of the University of Bern (Institute of Sports Sciences, Bremgartenstrasse 145, 3012 Bern).
Each appointments last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. During these appointments, several rounds are completed in FPS Aim Trainer with various non-invasive physiological measurements (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, weight, etc.) taken before and during the sessions. On two dates, a short physical training session (15-minute moderate endurance run or a 15-minute exergame) will be held before the Aim Trainer sessions.
