Communications Manager

The Communication Manager is the Head of the Communication Department at SESF. This person has a strategic role in defining the direction the SESF communication takes and is expected to autonomously take care of the communication necessities of the federation, and recruiting a team for that if needed. This role takes an average of 8 hours per week and is a volunteer position.

We are looking for a person with :

  • A passion for esports and/or the Swiss esports scene
  • Impeccable written English skills (C1-C2). German, French or Italian skills would be a plus
  • A sense of responsibility, independence and ability to take the lead
  • Ability to work in a team and manage a team
  • A strategic vision and capacity to make bold calls
  • Good adaptability
  • Good knowledge and understanding of social media (Discord, Slack, X, LinkedIn in particular)
  • A lot of curiosity, the need to always be up to date with digital tools
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign in particular)
  • Basic understanding of Web formatting
  • Being marketing savvy is a plus
  • Ability to move to various events in Switzerland and abroad
  • Ability to work on weekends and evenings if needed

Your main responsibilities will be :

  • Establish the communication strategy of the SESF
  • Oversee and execute the defined strategy
  • Build a strong online presence
  • Establish the recruitment needs of the communication team
  • Oversee the writing and publication of articles for the website
  • Drafting and distribution of press releases
  • Taking care of press relations
  • Writing and publication of job offers
  • Creation of visuals to accompany the various online publications
  • Coordination of the production of the editorial calendar
  • Social network KPI reporting and analysis
  • Ensure communication needs related to partners and sponsors
